We’ve got our hands on rehearsal pics – and it’s looking pretty amazeballs! Tickets for Christmas time are already selling like hotcakes.
If you’re familiar with the book, the show stars comedy actor Rufus Hound as Dennis’ dad.

Irvine Iqbal plays Raj, the shopkeeper and RSC Associate Forbes Masson is Mr Hawtrey, Dennis’ headteacher.

Natasha Lewis is Dennis’ best friend Darvesh’s mum. She last appeared on the RSC stage in 2018’s fab original musical Miss Littlewood.

Here’s David Walliams with the younger members of the cast. The star role of Dennis will be played in turn by Oliver Crouch, Jackson Laing, Tom Lomas and Toby Mocrei; while Darvesh, Dennis’ best friend, will be shared between Ethan Dattani, Shivain Kara-Patel, Kassian Shae Ahktar and Arjun Singh Khakh.

The Boy in the Dress been adapted for stage by former RSC writer-in-residence Mark Ravenhill, with new songs by Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers. Guy will be performing songs from his new solo piano album, Go Gentle Into the Light, on Sun Oct 27 Live at the RSC.

If you want to get a head-‘er’ the crowds on press night (Nov) 27, the RSC has 10 tickets at just £20 every day throughout October – you just need to book in person at the Box Office.
The Boy in the Dress runs from Nov 8 – March 8 2020 in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. Book here

“The Boy in the Dress” is wonderful..The whole cast is fantastic but a special mention goes to Jackson Laing. A star in the making! This funny, moving and uplifting show is a joyous celebration. Congratulations to everyone involved.
