This beautifully restored Georgian pub with rooms, re-opened in April 2016, following a major refurbishment by new owners, Brakspear. Located in the historic centre of the picturesque Cotswolds market town of Shipston-on-Stour, in Warwickshire, the Inn’s Pantry restaurant offers a superb range of British classics. The kitchen is passionate about sourcing British and local, seasonal produce wherever possible to create The George’s weekly changing menus. These include The Pantry Breakfast – a ‘Within Five Miles’ full English, a Prix Fixe lunch menu with two courses £11.95 and three courses, £15.95. On Sundays, the ‘Sunday Family Roasts’ lunch menu includes a choice of three meats served on a large platter with all the trimmings. £16.50 per person. There’s also a private dining room seating 12, and outside, a spacious, decked patio.
Behind the Bar, cask ales, including Brakspear Bitter and Brakspear Oxford Gold, both brewed in nearby Witney, along with craft and guest beers, lagers and ciders, 60 wines and a specialty gin menu featuring 10 iconic gins.
The George’s interiors combine original features with antiques, bold colours and luxurious modern fabrics to create a stylish townhouse feel throughout. Its 15 very comfortable, en-suite, twin and double bedrooms, come with luxurious en-suite showers and/or roll-top baths and king-size beds. Dogs welcome.
