Apple Day: Hill Close Gardens, Warwick, Sun Oct 11
Every year Hill Close Gardens in Warwick celebrates the produce grown in its ancient apple orchard. This year's event will be a socially distanced affair.
It’s that fruitful time of year.
Join in the fun at Hill Close Gardens’ annual Apple Day and Country Fair on Sunday October 11 from 11am – 5pm – this year’s celebration will be a socially distanced one. There’ll be craft stalls, fresh produce and plants for sale, refreshments and music at this very popular long-running event.
The gardens are recognised by English Heritage as the only surviving collection of restored Victorian detached plots and summerhouses open to the public in the UK. They were originally constructed in 1845 on the edge of Warwick to give Victorians somewhere to escape to, with many used as weekend retreats.
The ancient apple trees in the orchard at Hill Close are particularly noteworthy, hence the popularity of Apple Day. Last year, for the first time, the fruit crop was pressed into delicious juice!
Muddy’s Rhiannon Kouyoumjian enjoyed a lovely visit to the gardens earlier this year. You can read review her review here.
Adult entry is £4.50 & £1 for children (5-17 years). For further details see here.
