<p>Be honest, you might love a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings but the time and effort that goes into creating it? Not so much. This year why not give yourself the day off on the 25th and let someone else (like a top chef) create it for you, so all you have to do is scoff, quaff and open pressies on the big day?Here’s our pick of the best local pubs, restaurants and hotels for a cracking Christmas lunch out because, princess, you’ve earned the day off.</p>

<p>The food at this Instagrammable riverside pub is always a hit, so where better to tuck into four courses of deliciousness? There&#8217;s everything from French rabbit leg to Cornish lamb rack and comes in at £90pp or £45 for kids. Make sure you celebrate in style by trying some of the speciality cocktails. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-george-kilsby"><a href="https://www.thegeorgeatkilsby.co.uk/menus/">The George</a>, Kilsby</h2>



<p>Thinking about curry on the big day but not ready to commit to a full three courses with poppadoms and pakoras? Then this pub on the outskirts of Rugby is just the place. Talented chef Hari Krishnamurthy is at the helm and was classically trained in India. Since then he&#8217;s done stints at Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe so you can expect some pretty delicious food on the menu. The Christmas offering (£89.95 adults, for £44.95 children) is traditional with turkey and all the trimmings, but there&#8217;s nods towards Indian recipes with dishes like roasted tandoori chicken supreme or venison vindaloo pie if you fancy something a little different. </p>

<p>Roaring log fire in a pretty village pub on the outskirts of the Cotswolds &#8211; can you get more festive than that? This five-course menu (£120pp) includes Orkney scallops, turkey and a homemade Christmas pud. Best finished with a glass of brandy and a mince pie in front of the roaring fire. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-noels-birmingham"><a href="https://noelsbar.co.uk/christmas/">Noels</a>, Birmingham</h2>



<p>Waterside dining and Italian eats your idea of a very merry Christmas? Then head to Noels where you can get three courses for £125, including a glass of Moet. Starters include British oysters or hand-dived scallops, and for mains you can have anything from fillet steak wellington to goats cheese ravioli. </p>

<p>You’ll need to book a break here in order to be eligible to sit down for Christmas lunch, which sounds like a dream scenario to us. Arrive on Christmas Eve and enjoy a four-course dinner, before waking up in a luxurious bedroom, opening some pressies and then it’s time to sip a glass of complimentary champagne and tuck into a traditional roast. On Boxing Day it&#8217;s all about the food again with a top breakfast, three-course dinner and maybe a leisurely walk in the grounds or dip in the pool? Bliss. </p>

<p>Tuck into five courses of deliciousness (£100pp) at this gorgeous pub in pretty Four Oaks, before heading for a walk around nearby Sutton Park. Then it&#8217;s well and truly time for a nap!</p>

<p>You can&#8217;t go wrong here if you&#8217;re looking for a traditional lunch on the Warks/ West Mids border. Think beef carpaccio, white onion and cider soup and turkey, beef, monkfish or veggie option for mains. Six courses come in at £110pp including fizz.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.warnerleisurehotels.co.uk/breaks/festive-breaks/christmas-breaks">Studley Castle</a>, Studley</h2>



<p>Like Mallory Court, you&#8217;ll have to check in here for a couple of nights if you want to enjoy all the goodies on Christmas Day. Think drinks reception on arrival, bed and breakfast, and a slap up lunch on December 25. If you&#8217;re looking for some entertainment with your break this is the place, you&#8217;ll see a local choir, live music and comedy too. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-pushkar-birmingham"><a href="https://pushkardining.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/daypushkarchristmas.pdf">Pushkar</a>, Birmingham </h2>



<p>If a traditional roast really isn&#8217;t your thing, then a Christmas Day curry is what you need. At this restaurant in Edgbaston there&#8217;s two courses for £49 each &#8211; one of the best value around. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-hotel-du-vin-stratford-upon-avon"><a href="https://www.hotelduvin.com/locations/stratford-upon-avon/christmas/christmas-day/">Hotel Du Vin</a>, Stratford-upon-Avon</h2>



<p>Celebrate in Shakespeare&#8217;s hometown with this four-course lunch, including fizz from the Du Vin vineyard (£120pp). It&#8217;s French inspired, but there&#8217;s heaps of English tradition on this menu too, with whiskey cured salmon to start, turkey for mains and of course, a figgy pud. </p>

<p>After a high-end dinner with stunning views over Brum? Orelle is your place &#8211; based on the 24th floor with wall to ceiling windows. On Christmas Day you can expect three courses (£110pp). There&#8217;s the obligatory turkey, or break from tradition and try the halibut or pithiver.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://blackswanhenleyinarden.com/menu/christmas-menus/">The Black Swan</a>, Henley-in-Arden</h2>



<p>This Grade II listed building has been lovingly refurbished &#8211; meaning it&#8217;s the perfect place for a cosy pub lunch. Here you can enjoy six courses (yes, <em>s</em>ix!) including cheese board &#8211; a must in my book (£99.95pp). Food is locally sourced too, bonus.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://hattonarms.com">The Hatton Arms</a>, Hatton</h2>



<p>What a location for your festive feast, overlooking the lush lawns leading to The Stairway to Heaven, aka Hatton Locks flight of 21 locks on the Grand Union Canal.&nbsp;Start proceedings with a glass of fizz, then tuck in to three courses (£89.95 adults, £45 children) followed by a stroll along the waterway. </p>

<p>A stone&#8217;s throw from Birmingham&#8217;s Botanical Gardens sits this quintessentially English restaurant and bistro. Put on your best heels and tuck into four courses (£85pp) including chicken liver parfait, pan roasted loin of cod and a saffron poached pear. </p>
