#chefshelpinghands: Appeal for Warwickshire chefs to help homeless
Aubrey Allen boss Russ Allen has teamed up with local charities Helping Hands and LWS Night Shelter to produce meals for Leamington Spa's homeless and those most in need.

During the Covid-19 pandemic when communities are pulling together, local food suppliers and chefs are playing their part helping to feed the homeless and more vulnerable people in Leamington Spa.
Russ Allen, Managing Director of Aubrey Allen and Oscar’s Bistro in Leamington Spa and Sarah Taylor-Watts, a long-standing customer, initially had the idea to use up food supplies, cook meals and deliver them to those in need.
This has now spiralled, and food suppliers have generously donated food to be cooked, and Russell and Sarah are now hoping to get more chefs on board to help produce the meals. They have teamed up with local charities Helping Hands and LWS Night Shelter who are distributing the meals to the homeless and those most in need.
The #chefshelpinghands scheme is producing 1400 meals a week for the charities to deliver and with additional support hopes to increase this number.
Russ said: “If there are any chefs that can offer help or kitchens, please do get in touch. Produce can be provided. With your support we can help to feed those who are homeless and in need. The response so far has been wonderful, and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has helped us including The Star and Garter, Warwick Independent Schools Foundation, Mudwalls Farm, Mitchell Potatoes and Fresh Direct. We couldn’t do this without their support.”
