Where to ‘eat out to help out’ in Warwickshire

Sick of cooking? Good news - until Aug 31, you can get a 50% discount on your dinner and drinks when you eat in. Here are 30 of the pubs, cafes and restaurants to make your reservation at nearby.

Finally, you can now pay for someone else to feed you and do the dishes. Thanks to the new government ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme – which kicks off on Mon 3 Aug and runs to Mon 31 Aug, FYI – you can get a whopping 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks up to the value of £10 per head when you eat at participating pubs, cafes and restaurants. There are more details here, but as the offer is only valid on Mon to Wed reservations, we’d start booking date nights in, stat!

Here’s 30 of our top picks across Coventry and Warwickshire:

The Old Coffee Tavern, Warwick

Been missing nights out at a good old-fashioned cosy pub? Get thee to The Old Coffee Tavern You won’t be able to get 50% off the excellent range of gins (boo), but you can treat yourself to the satisfying pub grub, which includes vegetarian risotto, freshly made fishcakes and brunch burger.

Hart and Co, Leamington Spa

A quirky family run independent table service bar with a bath fetish -they’re everywhere! There’s a story to that – one accidentally fell through the ceiling during refurbishment…

Bower House, Shipston-on-Stour

An arty bohemian restaurant and bar with rooms with a welcoming community vibe. Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner – all look equally appetising from the Tofu scramble to fluffy, fresh gluten free American-style pancakes (with a choice toppings) and à la carte polenta.

Becketts Farm Heath Farm, Wythall, Birmingham

The restaurant and coffee shop at this award-winning family farm, just across the Warwickshire border close to Tanworth-in-Arden and Packwood House, recently re-opened with a reduced menu – see here. Their legendary breakfasts are served all day, every day – so a great brunch spot with a trip to the farm shop.

On the Rocks Rugby

A unique dining experience for steak lovers with 28 day aged beef from a local butchers served on an individual hot volcanic stone plate. Other alternatives include seafood and halloumi.

The Red Lion, Hunningham

A previous winner of our Muddy Awards’ Best Destination Pub, a friendly hidden gem squirrelled away in the pretty village of Hunningham. Pay a visit to enjoy the enticing large riverside garden, cosy vibes and British pub food menu.

The George Townhouse, Shipston on Stour

This Georgian fronted gastropub has been voted one of the Midlands Top Pubs and is definitely one for foodies, with local tipples from nearby Cotswolds Gin. That should be all the reason you need to make your reservation and go check out their new summer menu.

Bumbles Coffee Shop, Studley

A family-run independent top notch coffee shop and zero waste lifestyle store combined with delicious drinks and brownies.

Mallory Court Hotel, Leamington Spa

Eat in the 3 AA Rosette restaurant or 2 AA Rosette art deco brasserie surrounded by 10 acres of lush countryside. Dishes made using organically grown, seasonal produce from Mallory Court’s own kitchen gardens. 

Astley Book Farm & Coffee Shop, nr Bedworth

Browse for books at the second largest secondhand bookshop in the Midlands and grab a coffee or light lunch while you’re at – inside or in the pretty courtyard garden. You’ll have 75,000 books to choose from and a menu including freshly made sandwiches with locally baked bread, hearty soups or the local Warwickshire sausage roll plus a selection of cakes from Warwickshire bakeries.

Bean & Leaf Coffee House, Coventry

Minimalist, modern and family-run independent coffee shop in the heart of the city centre, just off Broadgate. Coffee is roasted by Caravan Coffee Roasters. It also serves loose leaf teas, cakes and sandwiches.

Whittles Leamington Spa

Two minutes from the town centre and you can dine inside a Grade II Listed Victorian hall for classical British dishes, informal bistro, afternoon tea or cocktails.

Loxleys, Stratford-upon-Avon

A popular family run restaurant and wine bar in one of Stratford’s historic streets with a reasonably-priced set menu.

Hilltop Farm Shop & Cafe, Hunningham

A lovely enterprising family run biz on a rural hilltop with farm shop, deli, butchers and cafe with local produce. Keep a look out on social for regular foodie happenings. Amazing views to boot!

Eleven, Leamington Spa

Fancy a little Gallic magic for that first night out? Mais oui! This rustic teeny French independent bistro in the heart of Leamington’s Old Town run by partners Mella and Jean-Christophe has an excellent prix fixe menu featuring all the greats and a handpicked wine list.

Bonds Lifestyle, Stratford

A stunning cafe with glass frontage and a brand new seasonal menu serving breakfast, lunch and drinks – all homemade where possible – in an interiors and antiques store.

Bake180 Coffee Shop, Middleton Hall & Gardens nr Tamworth

A coffee shop in a quaint courtyard full of independent shops within the grounds of the hall – a hidden gem set in 42 acres of the peaceful North Warwickshire countryside and a site of special scientific interest with nature trails around the man-made lake.   

Nourish, The Farm, Snitterfield

A wholefood café with dishes and specials prepared with veg and herbs picked from the kitchen garden and a range of freshly picked salads from the poly tunnels. Check out the menu here.

A fab all-day breakfast spot serving Stratford’s Monsoon Estates Coffee near the castle.
