Sustainable, smells great and grown locally, we've some of the best places to get your mitts on a real tree this Christmas, including the farm where this 60ft stunner in London's Covent Garden was grown!
Woods Farm Christmas Trees, Shirley, Solihull
You probably won’t be needing a cherry picker to put the baubles on your Christmas tree, nor will it take 300 hours to decorate like this impressive 60ft Norwegian Spruce in London’s Covent Garden (above). But if you’d like something similar – teensy bit smaller, perhaps – you’re in luck as it was grown in our neck of the woods, at a family run Christmas Tree Farm in Solihull with more than 3 million quality trees to choose from, stretching for hundreds of acres. Their two best sellers are the Nordmann Fir and Norwegian Spruce. Amazingly this tree took 40 years to grow – and three trees will be planted for every one cut down. Open seven days a week until Christmas, 9am – 7pm.
Hilltop Farm, Hunningham, near Leamington Spa
Locally-grown Christmas trees are on sale now at this third generation family farm. They have a wonderful range of gorgeous non-drop Premier Nordmann trees in a variety of shapes, tones and heights, from blue spruce, to slim spruce from 5ft to 8ft. All bases covered and most importantly, these trees are grown here in the midlands, with sustainability at their heart. These lovely trees are for sale just outside their farm shop in the marquee every day. You don’t need to book, you can just pop in and they can help you select a tree, wrap it up and load into your car.
Warwickshire Christmas Tree Farm near Upton House
A small family business between Tysoe and Shenington on the Oxfordshire / Warwickshire border, near the towns of Shipston-on-Stour and Banbury. They planted their first 5,000 trees in 2014 and have continued to plant a mixture of varieties each year including Nordmann Fir, Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir, Lasio Carpa, Scots and potted Christmas trees. They’re proud members of the British Christmas Tree Growers Association.
Crokers Christmas Trees, Southam
A small family run business growing Christmas Trees since 2000, mainly Norway Spruce and Nordmann Fir but there’s also a few Blue Spruce to choose from. Every year they plant 3,000 trees every year and now have more than 25,000 trees of various different sizes growing in their 8-acre field.

A family run business growing and delivering real Christmas Trees since 2003. You can visit their main site in Rugby where they have 1000’s of real Christmas trees to choose from or buy a real Christmas tree online for delivery. They include the UK’s favourite variety, Nordmann Fir and the Norway Spruce. Fresh cut real Christmas trees are available in 4ft, 5ft, 6ft, 7ft, 8ft and 9ft sizes. For larger trees contact them here. Barn Close Nurseries, Shrewley, Warwick
This garden nursery has a great selection of premium British-grown Nordman and Fraser firs, America or Norway Spruce, all collected from the farm on a weekly basis, ensuring you get the freshest trees possible, plus a Christmas shop selling handmade holly wreaths, firewood, Christmas plants, tree stands, lights and more. Delivery is available to your address in the first week or second week of Dec, Mon-Friday costing £10 per tree within 10 miles of Shrewley.
The Farm Snitterfield, Stratford
While doing your weekly shop have a mooch around their outdoor poly tunnels and pick your favourite real Christmas tree! There’s all sorts of shapes and sizes from potted 1.2m, 6ft to 9ft trees, plus tree stands. They also offer home delivery within a 10 mile radius of The Farm.
Smith’s Garden Centre, Baginton, Warwickshire
This long established independent family business of growers and horticulturalists provides a helpful guide to choosing your Christmas tree online here. They stock Norway Spruce, Blue Spruce, Fraser Fir and Nordmann Fir varieties all locally-grown within Warwickshire at the Cadeby Tree Trust in Nuneaton. I’ve bought quite a few of mine from here in the past – always lovely!
Stratford garden centre, Stratford-upon-Avon
This garden centre 3 miles outside Stratford sells a variety of real Christmas trees including Nordmann Fir, Norway Spruce, Blue Spruce and Fraser Fir. There’s free delivery within the CV37 postcode (minimum order £40) and click & collect.
Nordmann Fir cut real Christmas trees between 3ft (potted) and 8ft are available to pre-order for delivery from Mon Nov 30–Fri Dec 18. Place your order by midday on Wed Dec 16 for Christmas delivery.
Wharf Farm, Ilmington, Shipston-on-Stour
You can either choose your own real Christmas tree between 2ft – 10ft from the farm’s seasonal shop in the farm shed, click & collect or pre-order for delivery. Wreaths, mistletoe, tree stands, decorations, jam, home-made gin & lime marmalade, chutney and reindeer food (animal friendly) available too. Oakberry Trees, Lutterworth, Leics
A working farm on the Leics/Warwickshire border. For many years the owners mainly grew arable crops, but first started growing Christmas trees in 1998. They now have around 7,000 trees available for sale every winter. Varieties include Norway Spruce, Blue Spruce, Nordmann Fir, Fraser Fir and Scots Pine. They also have a large barn with retaining tree stands, Christmas lights and festive wreaths made from their own foliage and fresh mistletoe.
Just across the Warwickshire border, 13 miles from Rugby this family-run Christmas Tree Farm that open their gates to the public in the lead up to Christmas with more than 60,000 trees in the ground to choose from. They’ve been growing trees including Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce and selling handmade Christmas wreaths since 1992. This year you’ll need to book a ticket (per car) in advance here.
