<p>A bit of Louisiana in Brum? We&#8217;re here for it! The brains behind Vietnamese Street Kitchen are opening Seafood City in The Arcadian this June. Think everything from lobsters, crab, crawfish and clams in a seafood boil, along with (slightly less messy) options like lobster rolls and prawn burgers. There&#8217;s also going to be grill-your-own stations so you can showcase your inner chef, and a cocktail bar. </p>

<p><a href="https://cornercottagebakery.co.uk">Corner Cottage Bakery</a> has been a staple in Kineton for a while, but lucky us, they&#8217;re opening a new branch in Leamington too. It&#8217;ll be on Park Street, with a bakery downstairs and a cooking school upstairs &#8211; so you can find out how to rustle up their delicious sourdough and cakes at home. </p>

<p>Over in Bearwood new Vietnamese kitchen <a href="https://www.instagram.com/oakcaphe/">Oak Ca Phe</a> has opened its doors serving up pastries, Vietnamese egg coffee (yes, that&#8217;s a thing!) and bowls brimming with spring rolls and loaded fries alongside traditional dishes like Pho and coconut curry. </p>



<p>New cheese and wine bar Cheddar Rd is set to open in Stirchley on 10 May. It&#8217;s from the brains behind bar Stir Stores which serves up delicious cocktails, local beer and is known for it&#8217;s live music and art nights. We&#8217;re excited!</p>

<p>We&#8217;re not short of a good curry house in Brum, but there&#8217;s a new kid in town to try! Stylish and contemporary <a href="http://www.dilsedining.com">Dil Se</a> is opening at the Mailbox in early May with a fusion of North and South Indian foods. Owner Tito Jerard is Sri Lankan and says he wants the restaurant to showcase fresh ingredients and style. We&#8217;re looking forward to trying the Bombay Brunch and thali! </p>

<p>Hampton Manor has been holding bread and butter and cinnamon bun making workshops for a while. If you&#8217;ve been then you&#8217;ll have noticed the wall full of exciting looking jars filled with goodies just waiting to be used at Grace and Savour restaurant next door. And now you can learn how to make your own at the &#8216;<a href="https://hamptonmanor.com/workshops/">build a larder</a>&#8216; workshop. It&#8217;s a relaxed, two hour intro to pickling and preserving with quick hacks on how to make sauerkraut, pickled veg or whatever&#8217;s in season. Depending on the time of year there&#8217;s the chance for foraging too. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-re-openings">Re-openings</h2>



<p>The Old Lion in Harborough Magna is reopening with chef Hari Krishnamurthy at the helm. If the name sounds familiar it&#8217;s because he owns The George in Kilsby (one of my favourite pubs around, review <a href="https://warks.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/review-the-george-kilsby/">here</a>). Expect east meets west food, and gorgeous interiors thanks to a new refurb. It&#8217;s set to open in mid-June. </p>

<p>Have you been to Wootton Park before? It&#8217;s a pretty magical place with treetop hideaways and glamping pods, not to mention some gorgeous relaxing retreats. It&#8217;s just reopened its cluster of four <a href="https://www.woottonparkpods.co.uk">woodland pods</a>, perfect for larger groups or families. There&#8217;s all the home comforts you need, including a &#8216;gastropod&#8217; so you can rustle up a delicious meal, right in the great outdoors. Get booking!</p>

<p>After two years in Solihull town centre, Toffs by Rob Palmer is moving to luxe Hogarth&#8217;s Hotel. It&#8217;ll be closing on 4 May and Toffs at Hogarths will open in September with a fine dining menu. He&#8217;ll also be taking over as executive head chef at Hogarths from 7 May chef serving up a brasserie menu, afternoon tea, lounge menu and Sunday lunches. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-bookshop">Bookshop</h2>



<p>After the sad news last year that The Bookshop on the Green in Bourneville was closing, we&#8217;re positively jumping up and down that the team behind the store are opening <a href="https://www.greenheartbooks.co.uk">Green Heart Books Ltd</a>. It&#8217;ll be based on Greenfield Crescent in Edgbaston, where you&#8217;ll also find top joints like Smoke and Ash Pizzeria, Chapter and Loki Wine. It&#8217;ll be the largest indie bookshop in Brum and there&#8217;s also going to be a poetry coffee bar. We can&#8217;t wait for it to open in June!</p>
