<p>The cameras are rolling and the lab coats are back on —&nbsp;<em>Silent Witness</em>&nbsp;has officially decamped to Birmingham for series 29 (yes, 29 — endurance sport television at this point). It’s out with the London skyline and in with Brum’s bold backdrop. The BBC crime heavyweight follows its forensic dream team as they dissect the grisliest of cases &#8211; drama dial firmly turned up. Keep your eyes peeled for returning stars Emilia Fox and David Caves, now operating out of the rather grand Sir William Bowman Centre of Excellence. Birmingham General Hospital? Their new stomping ground. </p>

<p>If there&#8217;s one thing Muddy loves, it&#8217;s a powerful independent woman, especially one who&#8217;s local. Black Country born-and-bred broadcast star <a href="https://suziperry.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Suzi Perry </a>is heading home as headline guest for International Women&#8217;s Day, speaking at a special Women in Leadership event on Fri 6 Mar at The Mount Hotel. She&#8217;ll be shining a spotlight on women smashing it across commerce and industry, delivering a keynote speech followed by a live Q&amp;A (no such thing as a silly question, so come armed). Expect honest stories of grit, graft and mentorship &#8211; and a proper celebration of women lifting up other women up. Naturally, there’s a two-course lunch to keep inspiration levels high – tickets £49.50. Come for the inspiration, stay for the sparkle. </p>

<p>Big flavours and even bigger Sicilian energy have landed in Birmingham&#8217;s Jewellery Quarter &#8211; say ciao to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/vieni.jq/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vieni</a>, which opened its doors on <strong>Sat 7 Feb</strong>. The latest venture from chef-founder Angelina Andamo (the force behind <a href="https://tuttoapposto.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tutto Aposto</a>), this new spot is all about unapologetic Sicilian comfort. Think coffee brewed the traditional way in moka pots, Marsala-soaked Tiramasus, and dishes rooted firmly in family recipes and full-on flavour. Intimate, authentic, and proudly family-fuelled, Vieni is less &#8220;chain restaurant carbonara&#8221; and more nonna&#8217;s kitchen with a side of dolce vita. Because let&#8217;s be honest, no one does it quite like the Italians. </p>
