Becketts Farm, Wythall
An award-winning family Farm Shop, Restaurant, conferencing centre and Cookery School just across the Warwickshire border in Wythall – passionate about the best locally-sourced quality produce.
Rural all-singing-all-dancing Becketts Farm is a farm shop, restaurant, cookery school and conference centre in Wythall, Birmingham. It’s just across the Warwickshire border near Tanworth-in-Arden and gorgeous National Trust property, Packwood House.
The Becketts have been farming in Wythall for more 80 years and now the third generation of the family runs the farm since Albert Beckett moved to Wythall from Shropshire in 1937. Today, while still farming over 1,000 acres of cereals, it concentrates on connecting much more closely with people and enabling them to buy their food direct from a farm.
The award-winning farm shop includes a bakery, butchers, delicatessen, sandwich counter, greengrocers, party platters, hampers and cheese wedding cakes. It’s got a gorgeous selection of foods, drinks and gifts, and is one of those places you’re probably going to walk out with something you didn’t need, along with something for mum, dad, hubby, the kids and the dog – try walking past that homemade cake counter without stopping.
Fancy breakfast, lunch or Sunday carvery while you’re there? The farmhouse Restaurant and Coffee shop cooks dishes from scratch sourced from the farm shop and local British produce. Meals range from their award-winning full English breakfast to a Farmhouse Quiche of the day or Hearty Ploughman’s Planks. Breakfast, lunch, and Sunday carvery menus. There’s vegan, gluten free and children’s options too. You can see the menu choices here.
You can also treat yourself to an excellent value £30 afternoon cream tea for two with a range of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and cakes/traybakes. You can even order one with a glass of fizz – we approve!
And if you fancy developing your cooking prowess there’s the farm’s well equipped Orange Kitchen Cookery School which delivers fab classes for children and adults. Fancy learning how to make bread, pasta, learning how to prepare fish to make a curry? This is your place. It also offers team-building experiences for businesses with a handful of highly trained and well respected guest chefs.
It is conveniently located on the A435, 1 mile north of Junction 3 of the M42 with free parking for up to 300 cars.
