The days of grabbing a punnet of strawberries and a bag of bird food are long gone, and now we want more from our farm shops. Let me introduce you to bonafide foodie day trip destination, Cobbs at The Farm in Stratford.

Its got all you need and more, including, a lovely kitchen café offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, Sunday roasts and afternoon tea. Everything is homemade and much of the produce is local. It has workshops from sushi to macaron making, a huge kids play areas for little ones to run wild and is the perfect place for private parties and corporate events, complete with personalised food and drink menu.

Alongside the usual fruit and veg in the Farm Shop, you can buy local ciders, beers and artisan wines or take your own containers and stock up on refillable nuts, seeds, soaps and cereals. There’s a top cheese and deli counter, quality butchers, Grimsby fish on sale every Tuesday, cakes from local top bakers (including Muddy favourite Cookie Cottage) and lovely homeware and gifts. It’s a one stop shop. You’ll find lots of picnic benches and outdoor seating to soak up some rays while you scoffing some lunch and they hold a host of events including open air cinemas.
