Cobbs, Stratford-upon-Avon

Huge kids play areas, local butchers, lush café, private party venue – this Stratford farm has it all covered.

The days of grabbing a punnet of strawberries and a bag of bird food are long gone, and now we want more from our farm shops. Let me introduce you to bonafide foodie day trip destination, Cobbs at Stratford.

Nestled in Stratford-upon-Avon, this farm shop is a gift that keeps on giving. With it’s impressive butchery, delicatessen, café (and outdoor café kiosk in a converted shepherd’s hut), and kids play area, this is by far the best one stop shop you’ll come by. Even better, you can grab your favourite tipple here as it’s created just down the road at Welcombe Hills. Who said the English can’t make wine this good, huh? Alongside the usual fruit and veg in the Farm Shop, you can buy local ciders, beers and take your own containers to stock up on refillable nuts, seeds, soaps and cereals. Then after a long day of browsing (and probably a lot of buying), take a perch on the farm’s picnic benches and soak up the rays as you scoff your lunch.

It has all you need and more including a lovely kitchen café offering breakfast, lunch, Sunday roasts and afternoon tea. Everything is homemade and lots of the produce is local. And if the kids are bothering you, just take them to see the farm animals. They have pigs, goats, chickens, and ducks – enough to keep the little ones satisfied.

What’s more? The farm hosts workshops from Indian Supper Clubs, and open air cinema, to coffee mornings and Italian Tasting nights (catch us at every single event). An absolute Muddy favourite is the seasonal Makers Market. Think crafts, face-painting, climbing, and more! Obsessed but not a Stratford local? Fear not, other locations include: Englefield, Winchester, and Hungerford. Ready to have a full basket?
