Coventry Transport Museum

Know a petrolhead? Then we’ve found just the place. This museum houses the largest publicly owned collection of British vehicles in the world and is a great day out for all ages. Strap yourself in, here’s what you need to know about Coventry Transport Museum.

Once dubbed ‘Motor City’, Cov’s well known for its illustrious transport history – with cars like Jaguar, Daimler, Chrysler, Triumph and Rover previously all being produced there.

And if you fancy sneaking a look at some fast and furious motors – along with some not-so-fast Massey Ferguson tractors and Cov-built buses – then you’re in the right place. If there’s a football fan in the family make sure you check out the bus Coventry City footballers paraded in after their victory in the 1987 FA Cup Final.

Think captivating displays, interactive galleries and exhibitions which are home to the fastest cars in the world and some of the most innovative and luxurious vehicles created over the last 200 years – unfortunately not for sale, sorry!

Some days there’s extra activities to keep families entertained, like fun and educational (yes, that is a thing!) engineering sessions, museum trails and play sessions for little ones. When you’ve finishing pretending to be Lewis Hamilton take five in the award-winning coffee shop or pack a hamper and pitch up at one of the picnic areas.
