Fargo is nestled right in Coventry’s city centre adding a giant splash of colour to a former industrial space. Bang in the middle of Far Gosford Street (and part of Cov’s Creative Quarter for those in tha’ know) you’ll find this bustling village filled with graffiti-covered storage containers and vast, bright market hall, all bustling with indie businesses. There’s artisan food (including Cov’s top rated restaurant Gourmet Food Kitchen), a barbershop, vintage homewares, and a museum of cult film memorabilia (it doesn’t get more edgy!). It’s also a goldmine for vegans, who are spoilt for choice with restaurant, Dirty Kitch (we j’adore its chick’n burgers) and The Green Unicorn Vegan Store, which is so much more than just a pretty name – it’s the only vegan food shop in the city.

It’s the go-to for creatives in the area and hosts quirky events like plant markets, vegan festivals and a chocolate festival (yes, you heard that right… cue stampede from Muddy HQ). The ever-popular ‘Friday Lates’ street food and music nights are also a huge hit.

The latest venture is Factory at Fargo, which sees some of the most exciting street food kitchens and traders in the region converging under one roof, Thurs-Sun to serve globe-trotting food, craft beer and cocktails in a repurposed space. Cov is a hotbed of cooking talent and with so many of them on the bill at Fargo, it’s a real gastro treat for foodies.

Also in Fargo is The Box venue, which is most definitely not your average hotel conference suite and is decked out with some of the shipping containers you can see across the village  – it’s just undergone a £750,000 revamp and has capacity for 500 people (250 sitting). It’s available for work do’s, parties, shows, fairs or even a wedding, ding dong! Even better still is that you’ve got Cov’s most cutting edge suppliers on site too, so that’s the food, drink and décor sorted.
