Mary Arden’s Farm, Stratford-upon-Avon

Looking for a fun day out for all the family? This cute Tudor working farm is fun and educational, oh, and it once belonged to Shakespeare’s mum…

On the hunt for things to do with the kids? Then you’re going to want to head to Mary Arden’s Farm, just outside Stratford, stat. It’s one of Shakespeare’s family homes, previously owned by his mum Mary Arden and you can travel back to yesteryear with the knowledgeable costumed farm workers.

Meet Bill and Ben the donkeys, English Longhorn cattle, Cotswold sheep, woolly Mangalitza pigs. Pack yourself a picnic but make sure you grab a bag of food (or six) from the ticket office to feed the cute fluffies.

Kids will love the adventure playground and there’s workshops like willow weaving, food foraging and archery too.

The farm is open on weekends throughout Summer but check the website for activity days and openings.
