Studley Castle, Studley
Modern luxury in a 19th century castle – yes please. This stunning hotel is the perfect base whether you’re planning on exploring rural Warwickshire, or you want to kick back and relax.
Steeped in more than 180 years of history, original features meet modern opulence at Grade II listed Studley Castle.
It hasn’t long undergone a £50million renovation and there’s some 200 rooms here all designed for relaxing in comfort, with crisp linens, plump pillows and nothing but the Warwickshire countryside for miles around.
The picturesque Cotswolds, Henley-in-Arden and Stratford-upon-Avon are within easy reach, but if staying put and relaxing is more your thing then there’s plenty going on.
You’re spoilt for choice with two restaurants and plenty of lounges and bars dotted around. There’s the Market Kitchen in the Evesham Restaurant where the focus is local and seasonal produce, or Brasserie 32 championing British heritage recipes and traditional ingredients from the 1900s, but artfully reimagined. There’s also The Oak Room where afternoon tea is served, or head to The Garden Room for a pre-dinner gin.
In the evening it really comes to life with film screenings in the Picture Lounge, after dinner performances in the Evesham restaurant, comedy nights in the bar and weekend performances from big names like Scouting for Girls, Lulu and Sheridan Smith.
During the day there’s the beautiful Stables Spa, with indoor trees, a glazed roof, 16metre pool, sauna, steam room, lounge beds and treatment rooms.
You can also borrow one of the hotel’s Pashley bikes to explore the castle’s stunning grounds and manicured gardens – bliss.
