Muddy says: Eva and her team of Warwickshire and West Midlands based career coaches are engaging teens and young adults in their career.
Teen Direct, was set up in 2013 by Eva Harrison and her business partner, an Executive Coach, as a result of being concerned that only 1 in 6 teenagers and young adults, made a “well thought” through decision about their career path and lacked the employability skills to then take the next step. In addition, many teenagers are unaware of the wide range of jobs and opportunities available to them after they leave education and sometimes “wander into unsuitable careers”.
Schools and further education colleges are already under pressure to deliver this service, so Eva Harrison and her Teen Direct team, have created an expert programme, delivered by professional and knowledgeable coaches, which guides teenagers through the myriad of information enabling them to make informed decisions on which careers they should be considering and how to achieve them.
The programme is delivered as an independent workshop or on a one-to-one coaching basis.
Passionate about giving young people opportunities, Teen Direct deliver a service which ensures every teenager or young adult has a number of suitable career options, a set of key employability skills, an action plan and the skills and confidence to take it forward.”
The father of 19-year-old Warwickshire student Ben said: “As a parent of a teenager who is making career decisions, The Teen Direct Career Compass Setting Programme has helped our whole family. Ben now has a clear set of career options, and is much more responsible and motivated to take positive action around his future career.”
