It’s Michelin-rated, it’s stylishly done-up, and it’s called “The Fuzzy Duck” — do we even need to tell you this place is worth a visit?!

Well, we will anyway. Listed in the Michelin guide and boasting an AA Rosette for culinary excellence, it’ll come as no surprise that the food here is pretty bloomin’ good. Their house ‘scotched duck egg’ is, frankly, the Rolls Royce of scotch eggs, and if you order the fillet steak with truffle and parmesan fries you won’t be sorry. Seasonal options for veggies are inventive and excellent, and — parents, breathe a sigh of relief — there’s a menu for little ducklings too. The vibe is ‘Cotswolds contemporary’, which we love, meaning the best local ingredients prepared in a way that’s both classic and surprising.

The five bedrooms are simple but luxurious: eat your bodyweight in good food, then waddle up the stairs to an elegantly plush bed. (Not just on a whim, though: this is the sort of place you book ahead, surprise, surprise.)
