The George, Kilsby

This country pub for drinking and dining has become a bit of a local institution, want to know why? Let me fill you in…

The George is nestled right on the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire border – a stone’s throw from Crick and Barby.

Its pub classic menu has been given an Asian-twist by talented chef Hari Krishnamurthy, who was classically trained in India and has done stints at Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe.

Now he’s brought those flavours to Kilsby and while at it completely renovated the former coaching inn with luxe, cosy interiors – including a flower wall complete with neon sign. Instagrammers’ rejoice!

The garden is the latest part of the pub to undergo a facelift, and now is a beautiful, boho hangout, complete with covered area incase the ever-reliable British weather takes a turn.

The menu is exciting, filled with small plates, sharing boards, salads and mains like chicken tikka, lamb rogan josh pie, pizzas, burgers and an awesome roast every Sunday. There’s Indian and traditional afternoon teas too (with or without fizz, of course) and monthly supper clubs.

There’s a great wine list, beers on tap and the bartenders make a mean cocktail too.

It pretty much ticks every box – perfect for a quiet drink after work, to catch up with the girls, for a family meal or date night. So, what are you waiting for?
