The Moat House, Acton Trussell
Fancy a foodie hotel getaway? Hotfoot it to this hidden gem in the rolling Staffordshire countryside for their 2 AA Rosette Orangery restaurant and bar, peaceful waterside location and plush rooms.
For a romantic night away, an elegant afternoon tea or just time to zen out (hey, don’t we all deserve that?) look no further than this gorgeous lakeside Manor House.
It’s a luxe, indie hotel steeped in history, based in a Grade II listed building, with beautifully decorated rooms where you can kick back and unwind without a care in the world – sounds like bliss, right?
There’s Trentham Gardens and the McArther Glen outlet for shopping nearby, but if the great outdoors is more your thing make sure you pack your walking boots for a long stroll along the canal. If you’re feeling adventurous head to nearby Cannock Chase or the National Memorial Arboretum. The best part – Fido is welcome at the hotel too and plenty of local pubs.
If kicking back and relaxing is what you’re looking for then grab a bottle of bubbly and laze by the Grade II listed hotel’s own tranquil lake. Then make sure you book in at the 2 AA Rosette restaurant and lounge bar for afternoon tea or dinner (or both). Dunwood Farm ribeye steak with truffle and parmesan chips is a fave, but we can’t say no to the Katsu curry.
The hotel is also perfect for business meetings and team building events, it also makes a dreamy wedding venue – imagine the pictures next to that lake.
