Vintage Trains are the only charitably controlled train operator running heritage express steam and diesel trains on the main line – and lucky us, they’re right here on our patch.
Through the year, The Shakespeare Express operates to Stratford-upon-Avon from Birmingham, Derby, Leicester or Worcester or a round trip to Birmingham from Stratford-upon-Avon, with first class dining experiences whether it’s a Full English Breakfast, Afternoon Tea or 2-Course Sunday Lunch.
If you’d prefer a day out to destinations further afield then there the Express Steam or Diesel Explorers to places such as Llandudno, Carlisle, Plymouth, York and Scarborough. These trains offer Pullman (Dining), First Class (Dining) and Tourist tickets, with every carriage boasting opening windows, ensuring you can enjoy not just the sights but the sounds and smells of heritage train travel on the mainline.
There is also The Polar Express at Christmas, where passengers can enjoy a theatrical recreation of the popular 2004 film, with hot chocolate and cookie, while they immerse themselves in the magic and intrigue of the Christmas classic.
Those looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to step into the golden age of train travel can dine onboard one of our original 1960s Pullman Cars, offering at-table service, with seasonal menus and a fully stocked bar.
