Vintage Trains

Relaxing on an elegant steam train might be something you see in the movies – but Vintage Trains is making awe-inspiring trips a reality for adults and kids alike on The Shakespeare Line.

A trip on the Polar Express, a Mad Hatters Tea Party or four-course champagne evening meal – it’s all happening on The Shakespeare Line.

Vintage Trains are the only charity train operators running express steam trains on the main line – and lucky us, they’re right here on our patch. They run along the line from Birmingham Snow Hill to Stratford upon Avon through the scenic Warwickshire countryside

You can travel in First, Club or Tourist classes but all carriages have large picture windows so you can get a good view wherever you sit. All trains run up to 75mph and each carriage has its own steward, so you won’t be left without a glass of fizz in your hand.

There’s also speciality train rides perfect for the family like the Polar Express which sees the film theatrically re-created onboard, or step into Wonderland at the Mad Hatters Tea Party.

If you’re into a more chilled affair check out dining in one of the 1960s Pullman cars which includes full English breakfast, three course lunch, afternoon cream tea or a four course evening dinner – and a fully stocked bar, of course.
