It’s Christmaaaaaaaaassss! Well not quite, but to get you in the festive mood we've rounded up the best Christmas markets in Warwickshire and beyond...

Frankfurt Christmas Market, Victoria Square & New Street, Birmingham until Sun Dec 23

Prost! Bratwursts, tankards of German beer and hot Glühwein – it can only mean one thing… Brum’s Frankfurt-style market is back, now attracting more than 5.5million visitors a year! It’s the largest outdoor Christmas market in the UK, and the biggest German market outside Germany and Austria, open 10am – 9pm.  thebfcm


Warwickshire’s Etsy Made Local Festive Pop-up market, Fargo-Village, Coventry, Sat Dec 1 & Sun Dec 2

It’s back – bigger and better than ever! Come along to this wonderfully festive pop-up market, featuring some of the best handmade gifts, vintage goods, art and craft supplies available on, Sat (11am – 6pm) and Sun (11am – 4pm).  Fargo’s Vegan Festival is also on the Saturday. NEW! Cathedral Christmas market, Cathedral Square, Colmore Row, Birmingham until Sat Dec 22

A festive mix of locally sourced crafts, gifts, food and drink, plus home to one of the largest Christmas trees in the city and Santa’s grotto. The cathedral will be hosting a full programme of worship, music and film events to celebrate Advent and Christmas and stepping up its coat donation appeal for the homeless, Wrap Up Brum. 2017’s appeal saw more than 3,000 coats and warm jackets donated. birminghamcathedral


Leamington Yuletide Market Nov 25, Dec 2, 9, 16 & 23

Throughout the festive season there will be further Yuletide markets on Sun Nov 25 and Dec 2, 9, 16 & 23. The market on Sun Dec 2 will co-incide with the spectacular ‘Luminate’ Leamington lantern parade.


Warwick Victorian Evening and Craft Fair, Market Hall Museum & Warwick town centre, Thurs Nov 29

Get ready for Christmas, browse stalls throughout the museum selling crafts, gifts and art. Visit Father Christmas (£4.50 per child) and take part in a children’s craft activity. Warm up with a mulled wine and mince pie and enjoy hot drinks and cakes and savouries in the museum cafe. Free entry, 5 – 9pm.


Handcrafted Festive Market & Santa’s Grotto, Catthorpe Manor Estate, Lutterworth, nr Rugby, Dec 2 

A charming festive emporium of beautiful handmade gifts all under one roof at Catthorpe Manor’s annual Handcrafted Festive Market made by artists and craftspeople from across the Midlands, organised in partnership with Handcrafted Delights. Breakfast with Santa, 9am – 10am, & Afternoon Tea with Santa,  4-5pm (booking required), plus choirs, face-painting and hog roast. Free admission, 10am – 5pm. catthorpemanor


Christmas Markets, Hatton Shopping Village, every weekend from Sat Nov 24 – Dec 16 & every day Dec 21 – 23

Back by popular demand are the Christmas Markets (10am – 5pm) at this quintessentially English Victorian shopping village, home to a myriad of independent retailers. For those after a unique and special gift, there will be a diverse range of stalls from local suppliers. At the weekends visitors can also enjoy festive singing, mulled punch, mince pies and a great festive atmosphere.


Christmas Fair, Upton House, near Banbury, Sat Dec 1 & Sun Dec 2

Vintage crafts and fantastic food from local producers. Expect more than 30 stall holders and warm up with a coffee or a glass of mulled wine while you shop. The House, which opens to visitors at 12 noon, will also be decorated to reflect Christmas in the 1920’s, 11am – 4pm. This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue. nationaltrust


Christmas Floating Market, Brindley Place, Birmingham Sat Dec 1 & Sun Dec 2

Something a bit different as this colourful city canal market returns for one weekend only, 10am – 4pm. canalrivertrust



Making Merry Christmas Arts, Crafts and Gifts Fair, The Herbert, Coventry, late night Fri Dec 7 & Sat Dec 8 

The best local and ethical arts & crafts, workshops, music and choirs and more. You’ll find handmade delights and tasty treats – the perfect antidote to the stresses of the high street. Late night opening on Fri, 7.30pm – 10.30pm, & open from 10am – 4pm on Sat.


Victorian Christmas Market, Stratford-upon-Avon, Fri Dec 7 – Sun Dec 9

A fab 3-day even once again tying-in with the RSC’s festive production, Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, for the second year running with more than 200 stalls with traders in Victorian-themed costumes for an authentic 1800’s atmospheric experience. There’ll be a Victorian carousel, Prosecco bars, live music, carol singers, vintage vocalists and gifts for all the family, festive street food, roast chestnuts, mulled wine, cider and gin along with speciality goods. Christmas Market, Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, Nov 26 – Dec 4

Start the festive season by soaking up the Christmas market atmosphere as you browse more than 100 stalls offering a wide range of Christmas gifts and decorations. 10am – 5.30pm (weekdays); 10am – 6pm (weekends). Christmas Twilight evenings will take place on Thursdays and Fridays, Nov 22 – Dec 21 with mine pies, wine and live music. chatsworth


Christmas Fair and Carnival, Waddesdon Manor, Sat 10 Nov – Wed 2 Jan

Using the amazing artworks in the Waddesdon collection for inspiration, the house and grounds are a feast for the senses this Christmas. The house is decorated beautifully, inspired by the Venetian carnival and 18th century fancy dress, and the manor is hosting its biggest Christmas fair ever with food and gifts on offer from charming wooden chalets (Sat 10 Nov – Sun 16 Dec). There’s also a light show by the Guildhall School, this year projected onto the stables, and featuring Waddesdon’s objects, gardens and architecture. Until Wed 2 Jan.


The Country Home & Interiors Show, Thurs Nov 22 – Sun Nov 25  Stonor Park, Henley

The historic house at Stonor Park has been decorated with the theme Star of Wonder for the festive season. New for this year, you can book a candlelit tour of the house where you can see many of the rooms by twinkling lights and candlelight. Drinks and dinner are also on offer in the Pantry in the Medieval Hall. The weekend Thurs Nov 22 – 25, Stonor is once again hosting the Country Home and Interiors Show in stylish marquees in the grounds. More than 100 sellers of crafts, lifestyle products, gifts and homewares will be tempting you with their wares, plus there will be demos from new country businesses. A great opportunity to get your Christmas list ticked off in style.



Christmas Food Fayre, Hatton Shopping Village, nr Warwick, Sat Nov 17 & Sun Nov 18

Foodie fans can tuck into delicious treats at the Christmas Food Fayre where stallholders will be offering a wide range of food and drink to taste for free.  As well as sampling dips, nibbles, pate, cakes and puddings, it’s the perfect opportunity to buy food to flatter any Christmas table.  Late night shopping is also available on Nov 30 from 5.30pm – 8.30pm with special discounts of up to 20% available in selected shops, entertainment and carol singing.

Compton Verney Textile Fair, Sat Nov 17

More than 20 of Britain’s leading textile artists; from felt makers to hand embroiderers will be showcasing their talent at this historic Warwickshire art gallery and park. Now in its 8th year, the Textile Fair offers an ideal chance for people who love one-off, handmade items such as garments, soft furnishings, toys and artworks, to do some early Christmas shopping. The spectacular Adam Hall will become a pop-up retail exhibition space and there’ll be a series of mini-workshops throughout the day. Another big draw will be renowned textile artist and author, Anne Kelly who will be signing her books, Textile Nature and Textile Folk Art, while curating a one-day exhibition of her collage works and fascinating dolls house. Students from Birmingham City University’s School of Fashion and Textiles are also staging their first ever takeover of the ‘Naples Gallery’, creating a display of their undergraduate and graduate work. Advance booking is highly recommended,

Festive Gift Fair, NEC, Birmingham, Thurs Nov 15 – Sun Nov 18

Feeling a teensy bit Christmassy yet? Not really? Well, you will do after spending a day here! With more than 325 stalls this is one of the most popular Christmas shopping events in the UK, now in its 23rd year.  In the Festive Food & Drink area you’ll find 40 tempting stands. Winter Chocolate Festival, Fargo Village, Coventry, Sat Nov 17 

From fudge to cake, cookies to brownies, and of course oodles of chocolate, Fargo welcomes some of the best chocolate makers and traders in the Midlands if you’re looking for some edible Christmas treats or pressies. fargovillage

Stoneleigh Abbey Christmas fair, Sun Nov 25

A traditional Christmas fair inside the riding school of this stunning country mansion with connections to Jane Austen and Queen Victoria. There’s children’s crafts and activities, gift stalls, a letter to Santa and Santa’s Grotto, 10am – 3pm. stoneleighabbey

Ragley Hall Frost Fair, Alcester, Fri Nov 23 – Sun Nov 25

The estate’s second Frost Fair will feature carefully selected array of crafts, gifts, unique and original presents and fine foods from an abundance of stallholders. Located within the lower ground floor of this beautifully atmospheric Warwickshire stately house, with heated marquees on the west terrace and in-and-around The Stables and Coach House, entertainment will include choirs, roving musicians, a magician and Father Christmas. Christmas Fair, Hampton Manor, Hampton-in-Arden, nr Solihull, Sun Nov 25

Entertain the whole family with crafts, hot chocolate and a sleigh-bound guest for the kids. While there’s a well-deserved mulled wine and German Brätwurst for you. Get ahead on your Christmas shopping with gifts ranging from fudge and English Sparkling to organic candles and festive wreaths. Step back and celebrate with live music and throngs of smiling faces.
