Its next retreat takes place from 21 – 23 Feb at Ettington Park Hotel and we’re going to call it, it’s pretty much the perfect weekend away. Here’s why…

Luxury stay

Boutique Book Breaks are always held in stunning accommodations, and the upcoming one at Ettington Park is no different. It’s one of our favourite hotels, set in 40 acres of stunning grounds, overlooking a historic church and just outside Stratford-upon-Avon. Need a break from the page? Join one of the walks exploring the local countryside. If you’d rather stay in you can enjoy views through the original sash windows (and keep an eye out for the herd of deer which call the land home).

Digital detox

Put down the phone and close your laptop, lady! This boutique book break is time for you so turn off the tech, get snuggly by the fire and get stuck into your favourite genre for an hour or six. Much better than endlessly scrolling socials!

Wellness

There’s the hotel spa complete with indoor swimming and spa pool, sauna and steam room. For a bit more of a pamper book in for a treatment with top spa brands like Comfort Zone (whose luxury products are also in the bathrooms). There’s optional pilates sessions, or just make the most of some time to yourself in a slow-paced environment.

Great food

You’re not going to go hungry here! When you arrive on Friday expect a welcome afternoon tea, with three-course dinner on both evenings. Have lunch in The Library (where else?), or if you fancy some alone time have it served in your room. There’s hot drinks and snacks available all day if you get hungry too, and on Sunday tuck into a roast before heading home.

Wine tasting

Get those literary minds buzzing by sampling some of the hotel’s extensive wine collection. The perfect ice-breaker to catch up with other book lovers and chat all things from fantasy to thrillers and Sancerre to Sauv Blanc.

Book talks & shopping

Some top authors will be holding talks about their novels at the boutique book retreat. It’s optional whether you want to go to any of the events, but if you do expect a good chat about their books, and exclusive early access to some of their new works. There’s a book fair too where you can stock up on some great reads.

Meet other book lovers

Be as sociable or unsociable as you want here! The boutique book break’s all about replenishing mind, body and soul while enjoying downtime, good food and fresh air with likeminded women. Make new friends, or just make the most of some time to yourself!
