Dance circus company Motionhouse is heading to Warwick Arts Centre from&nbsp;27-30 Oct&nbsp;for its first work specifically for children and families.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/pa-starchitects-presented-by-motionhouse/">Stararchitects</a>&nbsp;is about five children who dream of reaching the moon from their bedroom, and what they find when they get there.

Here’s one you can take the kids too (but secretly enjoy it yourself). The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/demon-dentist/">Demon Dentist</a>&nbsp;is the latest adaptation&nbsp;of one of comedian David Walliam’s books and is on from&nbsp;26-29 Oct&nbsp;at The Belgrade. Children are leaving their teeth for the tooth fairy and waking up to find odd and horrible things under their pillow. It’s by the West End producers of Walliams’&nbsp;Gangsta Granny&nbsp;and&nbsp;Billionaire Boy, both nominated for an Olivier Award – so you know you’re onto a good thing.



Sing-a-long Disney – great if you’re five or 50, right? The Alexandra Theatre in Brum is holding a screening of sing-a-long&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atgtickets.com/shows/sing-a-long-a-encanto/the-alexandra-theatre-birmingham/">Encanto</a>&nbsp;on&nbsp;22 Oct, and fear not, the lyrics are all on the big screen so you won’t miss a word.



The creator behind Horrible Histories is back, this time with <a href="https://www.albanytheatre.co.uk/shows/terry-dearys-true-ghost-stories/">Terry Deary’s True Ghost Stories</a>. Expect spooky stories and ghosts from the past at this show at Cov&#8217;s Albany Theatre on Oct 23 at 7pm. Suitable for over 8s only.

Budding Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell in the family? From Oct 24 there is a week-long holiday camp in <a href="https://www.thestringsclub.org/events/leamington-spa-october-half-term-holiday-camp">Leamington</a> where kids can learn guitar or ukulele courtesy of the UK’s best childcare practitioners and string teachers from The String Club. Between 8am to 5.30pm or 9am and 4pm each day there&#8217;s instrument lessons, interactive workshops and &#8211; proud parent alert! &#8211; the week culminates in a grand concert.

<a href="https://www.farmanimalrescuesanctuary.co.uk/product/halloween-open-weekend-tickets-saturday-29th-30th-october/">Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary</a>&nbsp;in Wolverton is hosting a halloween open weekend on&nbsp;29&amp;30 Oct. Meet some of the rescue sheep and pigs (make sure you take them some rich tea biscuits), do a bit of shopping at the stalls and come and say hi to your favourite Muddy editor who will be working on the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lucashelpsdogs.com/">Lucas Helps Dogs</a>&nbsp;charity stand.

Dogs Trust Kenilworth is holding two 90 minute workshops full of games and activities to teach children age 7 to 11 how to be safe and show dogs love. They are taking place at its branch in Honiley on Oct 28 at 11am and Dickens Heath Library in Shirley on Oct 29 at 2pm. Head to Hatton Country World from 22 to 30 Oct where there’s a <a href="https://adventure.hattonworld.com/whats-on/pumpkin-spooktacular-2022/">Pumpkin Spooktacular</a>. Take a ride on the trailer with some spooky surprises on the way, there’s a haunted house and then head to the pumpkin patch to pick your own. When you’ve finish book into Muddy favourite <a href="https://hattonarms.com">The Hatton Arms</a> for dinner.&nbsp;

Feeling brave? <a href="https://www.warwick-castle.com/explore/events/halloween/#tickets">Warwick Castle</a> always does Halloween well and this year your little ones (and bigger ones) can meet the Witches of Warwick, travel through the Haunted Hollows and cook up some potions in the castle kitchens. The Haunted Castle event is suitable for all ages so you can take the whole family. If the kids are a little more grown up there’s the Castle After Dark to really make them jump.



Magic Alley is hosting a <a href="http://www.magicalleystratford.com/halloween">Twisted Circus Halloween</a> experience until Oct 31. There&#8217;s lots of puzzles to solve, lighting and sound effects and &#8211; bonus &#8211; a prize if you make it out alive. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">MUSEUMS</h2>



At Brum&#8217;s Thinktank there&#8217;s a a spooky science theme throughout half term including a monster show, LEGO lab takeover, trails and chance to meet science expert. It ends with a Big Bang on 28 Oct at the <a href="https://www.birminghammuseums.org.uk/thinktank/spooky-science-this-half-term">Spooky Science Night</a> &#8211; think silent disco and live science demos and you&#8217;re about there.

There’s also scientists performing experiments and crafts for little ones.&nbsp;

Chance to eat cakes, drink coffee and keep the kids entertained? Yes please. Muddy favourite <a href="https://www.facebook.com/chrissiescatering1">Chrissie&#8217;s Catering</a> in Nuneaton is holding a spooky afternoon tea on 27 Oct including pumpkin carving, biscuit decorating and a Halloween-themed menu to tuck into. 



<a href="http://www.cadburyworld.co.uk/">Cadbury World</a> is holding a stage show ran by Freddo the Frog at Circus Spooktacular from 15-30 Oct. There&#8217;s daily awards for best fancy dress and of course, more chocolate than you could possible eat (but we&#8217;ll give it a good go.)

Think your raving days are over? Think again. Big Fish Little Fish is holding family raves in <a href="https://bigfishlittlefishevents.com/events/leamington-spa-big-fish-little-fish-spooktaular-drum-and-bass-special-with-dj-ss/">Leamington</a> on 29 Oct and <a href="https://bigfishlittlefishevents.com/events/big-fish-little-fish-birmingham-halloween-family-rave-dj-joe-hunt/">Brum</a> on 30 Oct &#8211; with noise levels perfect for little ears.
