We&#8217;re spoilt for choice at the RSC with <a href="https://www.rsc.org.uk/kyoto">Kyoto</a> from 18 June &#8211; 13 July, it&#8217;s a play about agreement, negotiations and hope, with a standout cast including Stephen Kunken (Billions and The Handmaid’s Tale). From 5 June &#8211; 7 Sept there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.rsc.org.uk/the-merry-wives-of-windsor">The Merry Wives of Windsor</a>, a surburban Shakespearian comedy where women get the last laugh (don&#8217;t we always!?). <a href="https://warks.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/arts-culture-things-to-do/rsc-merry-wives-school-for-scandal/">Here&#8217;s</a> why you need to book tickets and make it your next girls&#8217; night out. 



Over in Brum at The Hippodrome there&#8217;s Craig Revel Horwood and Aston Merrygold <a href="https://www.birminghamhippodrome.com/calendar/the-wizard-of-oz/">The Wizard of Oz</a> from 11 &#8211; 16 June, or for musical action check out <a href="https://www.birminghamhippodrome.com/calendar/six-three/">Six</a> from 18 &#8211; 22 June. We&#8217;re most excited though for <a href="https://www.birminghamhippodrome.com/calendar/hamilton/">Hamilton</a> from 25 June &#8211; 21 Aug.

Just down the road at Artrix in Bromsgrove bag tickets to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.artrixbromsgrove.co.uk/whats-on/all-shows/deathtrap">Deathtrap</a>&nbsp;from&nbsp;19-22 June. It’s based on Ira Levin’s classic comedic thriller about a washed-up playwright and is an absolute rollercoaster ride of plot twists and suspense to keep you guessing until the end! We can’t wait!



On 1 &amp; 2 June at Warwick Arts Centre there’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/rng-dragons-and-mythical-beasts-live/">Dragons and Mythical Beasts Live</a>, hot from the West End. It scooped the Best Kids Show at the Edinburgh Fringe too – high praise indeed! If that isn&#8217;t enough of the weird and wonderful for you and the kids there&#8217;s a free Dragons and Mythical Beasts themed drop-in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/rng-dragons-and-mythical-beasts-live/">workshop</a>&nbsp;between 10am and 2pm on&nbsp;1 June. Meanwhile, in Cov you can catch&nbsp;new play&nbsp;<a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/swim-aunty-swim/">Swim, Aunty, Swim!</a>&nbsp;by Cov local Siana Bangura until 1 June, and for the kids check out&nbsp;<a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/spots-birthday-party/">Spot’s Birthday Party</a>&nbsp;on 1 June. There&#8217;s Oddsocks farcical version of <a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/julius-caesar/">Julius Caesa</a>r on 17 &#8211; 19 June and comedienne <a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/catherine-bohart-again-with-feelings/">Catherine Bohart</a> on 26 June with her show, Again, With Feelings, which has received five star reviews pretty much across the board. In Leamington at The Loft Theatre there&#8217;s <a href="http://www.lofttheatrecompany.com/">The Government Inspector</a> from the 5 &#8211; 15 June, a satirical play set in (and written in) 1800s Russia.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-great-outdoors">GREAT OUTDOORS</h2>



There’s a stellar line up at the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thefestivalontheclose.co.uk/whats-on/">Festival on the Close</a>&nbsp;ran by Rugby’s Macready Theatre. Think music from Symphonic Ibiza, Jason Manford’s comedy club with Paul Sinha, performances from&nbsp;Britain’s Got Talent&nbsp;stars Flawless and Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, hot from the West End. Sounds great, right?



Something for the whole family? Whether they’re nine or 90 the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.midlandsairfestival.com/">Midlands Air Festival</a>&nbsp;is a blast. It’s held in the stunning grounds of the Ragley Hall Estate&nbsp;31 May – 2 June&nbsp;and will include funky shaped hot air balloons, helicopters, aerobatics and displays from (gasp!) The Red Arrows. Make sure you’re there in the morning or evening to catch the breath-taking mass descent of up to 100 hot air balloons taking to the skies together.&nbsp;

Grab the pooch and head to <a href="https://www.comptonverney.org.uk">Compton Verney</a> for a stroll around the grounds with&nbsp;landscape manager Fiona Tansey on 6 &amp; 13 June or there&#8217;s a tour around the new sculpture installations with curator Keira Blakely on 15 June. 



Because everything is better with your dog then you&#8217;ll want to head to FarGo Village&#8217;s <a href="https://www.fargovillage.co.uk/events/fargo-dog-fest">Dog Fest</a> on 8 June. There’s a fun dog show raising money for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.fargovillage.co.uk/events/fargo-dog-fest">Broken Souls Rescue</a>&nbsp;and stalls including one selling handmade collars and leads with proceeds going to Sri Lankan street dog charity&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lucashelpsdogs.com/">Lucas Helps Dogs</a>. Grab street food one of the many joints at FarGo and sign your pooch up to the a doggy agility course.



For more dog-friendly fun (can you ever have enough) then Pawprints Dog Rescue is holding its <a href="https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064548225734">Annual Dog Show</a> on 9 June. Think everything from dog classes and meeting behaviourists to an all-important gin bar and shopping. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-exhibitions">EXHIBITIONS</h2>



Birmingham Museum &amp; Art Gallery’s Waterhall is reopening, and Muddy favourites Birmingham Royal Ballet will be filling the venue with dancers and music from 26 June &#8211; 2 July. In the Gas Hall there&#8217;s the <a href="https://www.brb.org.uk/bmag">Victorian Radicals</a> exhibition, with ballet costumes on show.

Over at The Herbert Art Gallery &amp; Museum it&#8217;s your last chance to catch <a href="https://www.theherbert.org/whats-on/1779/after-the-end-of-history-british-working-class-photography-1989-2024">After The End Of History: British Working Class Photography</a> which runs until 16 June. If you&#8217;re after a night out with the family then check out <a href="https://www.theherbert.org/whats-on/1767/doze-under-dippy">Doze Under Dippy</a> at the same venue on 15 June for a sleepover under the Dippy the Diplodocus. 



There&#8217;s heaps of work on show from Leamington artists at former Muddy Award-winning <a href="https://www.warwickshireopenstudios.org">LSA Art Room</a> from 3 &#8211; 29 June. They&#8217;re all from Warwickshire Open Studios and it&#8217;s just ahead of <a href="https://www.warwickshireopenstudios.org">Summer Art Weeks</a>, when more than 100 venues open for a snoop around their work from 22 June &#8211; 7 July. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-music">MUSIC</h2>



<a href="https://www.forestlive.com/cannockchaseforest">Forest Live</a> is&nbsp;back at gorgeous Cannock Chase from 27 &#8211; 29 June with some top acts performing. This year you can rock out to Anne-Marie, The Charlatans, Johnny Marr and Olly Murs before heading home for a blissful sleep in your own bed (tell me that isn’t tempting?).

At the Wolverhampton Grand there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.grandtheatre.co.uk/whats-on/jools-holland-his-rhythm-blues-orchestra/">Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra</a> on 7 June, with a guest appearance by local guitar hero Toby Lee. <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-foodies">FOODIES</h2>



For cooking tips, foodie shopping and celebrity chefs then you&#8217;re going to want to head to the <a href="https://www.thenec.co.uk/whats-on/good-food-show-summer/">Good Food Show</a> in Birmingham from 13 &#8211; 16 June. Rub shoulders with everyone from Nadiya Hussein to Michel Roux.

While The Belgrade is best-known for its hit shows it’s also got a pretty awesome on-site bar, the recently refurbished Nineteen 58. It hosts regular <a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/host-dining-at-nineteen-58-3/">pop-up restaurants</a> headed up by top local chef, Sarah Jenkins and this month it&#8217;s on 22 June. At each event the menu is different and there’s wine recommendations and pairings throughout as an optional extra, which obviously you are going to want too. Cheers!



For some music with your food there&#8217;s <a href="https://thestratfordpark.co.uk/stratfest-returns-for-june-2024/">Stratfest</a> on 1 June &#8211; the first time it&#8217;s been held for eight years, yikes! It&#8217;s at Stratford Park Hotel and all about local street food and music. If you like your food a little more medieval (and in some stellar fancy dress) then head to a <a href="https://www.coombeabbey.com/product-category/events/">Medieval Banquet</a> at Coombe Abbey on 15 or 29 June. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-workshops">WORKSHOPS</h2>



Ever fancied <a href="https://www.brb.org.uk/bmag">learning ballet</a>? Who better to teach you than Birmingham Royal Ballet at the stunning Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery? There&#8217;s a beginners ballet workshop on 26 June, along with chance to make your own tutu (I mean who wouldn&#8217;t want one?).



Poetry your thing? Then you&#8217;ll want to head to the <a href="https://www.historiccoventrytrust.org.uk/whats-on/shape-poetry-workshop-anglican-chapel/">workshop</a> by Cov&#8217;s first Poet Laureate Emilie Jones on 8 June in the Anglican Chapel at London Road Cemetery. Just over the road at The Charterhouse there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.historiccoventrytrust.org.uk/whats-on/calm-like-a-monk-contemplative-yoga-practice-at-charterhouse-2/">restorative yoga</a> on 23 June.

Head to The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum for <a href="https://www.theherbert.org/whats-on/1814/dippy-yoga">Dippy Yoga</a> on 1 June, under the life-sized dinosaur on loan from the National History Museum. If you like your activities a little more hands on then there&#8217;s the art of <a href="https://www.theherbert.org/whats-on/1795/introduction-to-suminagashi-paper-marbling-with-the-handcrafted-hen">paper marbling</a> &#8211; or Suminagashi &#8211; on 15 June or<a href="https://www.theherbert.org/whats-on/1791/pinhole-camera-making-with-creative-in-nature"> pinhole camera making</a> on 22 June.



At The Makers Space in Alcester there&#8217;s some awesome workshops for crafty types, as usual!
