The Handmade Fair, Ragley Hall, Alcester, Fri May 12- Sun May 14

Interested in interiors, up-cycling and learning new skills? This is the ultimate creative day out for craft enthusiasts and makers. Having already enjoyed three successful years at Hampton Court Palace, The Handmade Fair is launching a second event at Ragley Hall, Park and Garden this weekend. It will bring together Britain’s best handmade products, crafts supplies, and artisan foods.  TV presenter, Kirstie Allsopp, will top the bill on the Friday, before handing over the reins to Liz Earle, skincare specialist and founder of the multi-award winning Fairtrade jewellery range, and Patrick Grant, British designer and judge on The Great British Sewing Bee. The event will feature more than 150 hand-picked exhibitors, each selling beautiful products, materials, and tools, as well as delicious food and drink stalls.

Omid Djalili: Schmuck For a Night, Warwick Arts Centre, Butterworth Hall, Sat May 13

Award-winning comedian and actor Omid Djalili known for his legendary stand-up performances is back on a nationwide tour. Intelligent, sometimes provocative and always entertaining, his stand-up is a hugely energetic and captivating comedy masterclass. His credits range from Hollywood to television and live on the West End stage. Earning praise across the world for his performances, Omid recently starred in Dickensian (BBC1) and Lucky Man (Sky1).

Warwick Masterclass: Nature and Travel Photography with Kate Green, Sun May 14

Get out-and-about in the beautiful grounds of Warwick Uni with your camera and hone your photography techniques with Midlands based photographer and film maker Kate Green. You’ll be getting to grips with Macro photography; planning and executing a nature photography shoot; capturing wildlife and learning tips on transforming yourself from a holiday snapper to a travel photographer. To get the best out of this class you will need to understand the basics of Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. This is the 4th in a series of Kate’s photography masterclasses.

National Vintage Communications Fair, Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, Fosse Way, Leamington, Sun May 14

The National Vintage Communications Fair is an antique-type collectors fair specialising in early technology and featuring thousands of rare and collectable items such as early radios, television receivers, gramophones, telephones, classic valve hi-fi and all manner of electrical & mechanical antiques. The fair is organised and run by the British Vintage Wireless Society and open to everyone, from seasoned collectors to newcomers thinking about starting a collection, 10.30am-4pm.

Walk for Myton, Myton Lane, CV34 6PX, Sun May 14

Picture your ideal Sunday. Does it involve a peaceful walk in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside? If so, Walk for Myton Hospice could be the fundraising event for you and the whole family- even your dog! You can choose between three different routes: a 3mile route around Leamington’s Victoria Park, a 6m route along the canal and beautiful Jephson Gardens in Leamington or a 12 mile walk into the countryside, along the canal and picturesque village of Offchurch (where there’s gorgeous gastropub, The Stag). Start between 8.30am and 10am. The event ends at 4pm. After your walk, there’ll be family entertainments, drinks and a barbecue in the hospice grounds.

Dress Makers Ball, City Room, Leicester, Fri 12 May 

Show off your best handmade creation at the first-ever Dress Makers Ball. Organised by the ladies from Crafty Sew and So in Leicester the event is a chance to mingle with sewing enthusiasts and prominent figures within the industry. Whether you’re a designer or a novice dress maker or sewist you’ll want to see and be seen at this event. Mingle with the likes of Gabby Young of popular sewing blog Gabberdashery who will also be bringing her band and singing. Enjoy music, dance, food and a whole host of frivolities in the grand ball room, there’s even the chance to join the catwalk. Tuck into a delicious hot buffet and a grand prize draw that you won’t want to miss. Ticket price includes a fabulous goodie bag.
