Beethoven played alongside The Beatles and Frank Zappa? Birmingham Royal Ballet always puts on a stunning show and we can’t wait for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.brb.org.uk/shows/the-sleeping-beauty">The Sleeping Beauty</a>&nbsp;at Birmingham Hippodrome from&nbsp;21 Feb – 2 March. There&#8217;s also Matthew Bourne&#8217;s version of <a href="https://www.birminghamhippodrome.com/calendar/mbs-edward-scissorhands/">Edward Scissorhands</a> at the same venue from 6 &#8211; 10 Feb, or <a href="https://www.birminghamhippodrome.com/calendar/life-of-pi/">Life of Pi</a> from 12 &#8211; 17 Feb. For opera then The Dnipro Opera from Ukraine will head to Cov on&nbsp;14 Feb&nbsp;to perform&nbsp;<a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/la-boheme/">La Bohème</a>&nbsp;at the Belgrade Theatre, with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/carmen-11/">Carmen</a>&nbsp;performed the following day.



Head to the RSC to catch <a href="https://www.rsc.org.uk/a-midsummer-nights-dream/">A Midsummer Night’s Dream</a>&nbsp;until 24 March. Matthew Baynton – hot from writing and starring in BBC’s&nbsp;Ghosts&nbsp;– will play Bottom, in the classic Shakespearian tale which sees real and fairy worlds collide. And in Rugby at the Macready Theatre there’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/rugby-arts/vamos-theatre-presents-the-boy-on-the-roof/e-ebvllq">The Boy on the Roof</a>&nbsp;on&nbsp;15 Feb, it’s the sweet story of an unlikely friendship.&nbsp;



At Leamington&#8217;s The Loft Theatre take a trip to 1830s Ireland to catch <a href="https://lofttheatrecompany.com/performance/translations/">Translations</a> by Brian Friel, running 21 Feb &#8211; 2 March. It&#8217;s set in Donegal and all about how language shapes identity and culture.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-exhibitions">EXHIBITIONS</h2>



At The Herbert in Cov where there’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.theherbert.org/whats-on/1778/case-coventry-art-societies-exhibition">CASE: Coventry Art Societies Exhibition</a> from&nbsp;2 Feb – 3 March, it’s the first time it’s run since lockdown and features the work of 75 talented local artists.&nbsp;

Just down the road at Warwick Arts Centre you can catch <a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/39J-phantom-sculpture/">Phantom Sculptures</a> until 10 March. It brings together works by some modern artist and puts them alongside those from older artists.

The wonderful Orchestra of the Swan will be performing Red Sky at Sunrise: Laurie Lee in Music and Words just over the border in <a href="https://orchestraoftheswan.org/concert/red-sky-malvern/">Malvern</a> on 10 Feb and <a href="https://orchestraoftheswan.org/concert/red-sky-oxford/">Oxford Playhouse</a> on 17 Feb. There&#8217;s also <a href="https://orchestraoftheswan.org">Pictures at an Exhibition</a> on 8 &amp; 9 Feb at Warwick Hall. There&#8217;s also the <a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/3kp-royal-philharmonic-orchestra/">Royal Philharmonic Orchestra</a> at Warwick Arts Centre on 23 Feb. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-workshops">WORKSHOPS</h2>



Over at Warwick Arts Centre budding singers can head to a songwriter&#8217;s <a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/rzl-songwritingspring-2024/">workshop</a> held on Tuesdays or there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/3x5-yoga-in-the-gallery/">yoga</a> on 12 Feb. At The Maker&#8217;s Space in Alcester there&#8217;s heaps of awesome classes to take part in, from intro to <a href="https://sewmesomething.co.uk/products/intro-to-pottery-workshop?start=2024-02-01T00:00&amp;select=2024-02-02T10:00">pottery</a> on 2 &amp; 16 Feb, to willow weaving on 8 Feb and <a href="https://sewmesomething.co.uk/products/silver-ring-bangle-workshop?start=2024-02-01T00:00&amp;select=2024-02-13T10:00">silver rings and bangles</a> on 13 Feb.

At The Belgrade in Cov there’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk/events/frankie-boyle-lap-of-shame/">Frankie Boyle</a>&nbsp;on&nbsp;27 Feb,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/MPz-sarah-millican-late-bloomer/">Sarah Millican</a>&nbsp;at Warwick Arts Centre from&nbsp;29 Feb – 3 March and <a href="https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/rcv-guz-khanlive/">Guz Khan</a> 24 Feb. At Brum Town Hall check out&nbsp;<a href="https://bmusic.co.uk/events/ed-byrne-tragedy-plus-time">Ed Byrne</a>&nbsp;on&nbsp;9 Feb&nbsp;– I actually caught this show at the end of last year and can highly recommend -and on&nbsp;24 Feb there’s&nbsp;<a href="https://bmusic.co.uk/events/ross-noble-jibber-jabber-jamboree">Ross Noble</a>.
