Support our Warwickshire and Coventry yoga and fitness heroes while keeping healthy from the comfort of your living room. Here’s 9 virtual workouts you can do in your PJs (leg warmers optional).
Practising yoga on a regular basis can be extremely beneficial for your flexibility, help you boost your strength and improve your overall fitness. If you’re a local yoga or fitness instructor, please feel free to add any further classes in the comments section.
Sara Palmer, founder of Stratford-upon-Avon based LoveYogaHealing
Sara is a registered senior Yoga teacher with 15 years’ teaching experience, Yoga therapist and Ayurveda practitioner and educator. She’s running a Home Retreat schedule, structured so people can still do their work from home while enjoying morning hatha and evening yin/restorative/gentle yoga classes, five days a week – some paying and some free. In addition to some free meditation/deep relaxation classes, she’ll be scheduling a free talk also on Ayurveda and Immunity with tips to support general immunity and the lungs.
Julie Alexander-Cooper Yoga, Kenilworth
Julie is teaching all of her one-to-one hatha yoga and group yoga classes online during the lockdown. See here. They include:
- Hatha Yoga, Mon 7pm – 8.30pm. Cost: £98 per person for a 10-week term
- Breath & Relax Tuesday 12-12.30pm. Cost: £45 for a five-week term
- One-to-One 45-minute yoga session. Cost: £98 per session
Julie is passionate about yoga and qualified as a yoga teacher with Friends of Yoga (Fryog) 22 years ago. She teaches inclusive classes for all abilities and also devises yoga programmes for students with specific health disorders such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, MS and insomnia, undergoing cancer treatment and seated yoga for students with less mobility. Julie has recently investigated the positive impact of yoga practice on insomnia and quality of life at the University of Oxford Neuroscience Department.

Claire Bradley Yoga, Rugby
Claire is a qualified hatha yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals who has practiced yoga for more than 20 years.
Claire runs free live #feelgreatat8 (that’s 8am) 10-minute yoga burst every weekday during isolation to help start your day in a more positive way. Videos will go out live via Facebook at 8am GMT or catch up at a time to suit you.
During the current climate, all face to face classes are cancelled but she’s live streaming all classes including Beginners, Beginners & Beyond, a more dynamic Yoga Flow, a new Lush Flow plus Pregnancy There’s also a guided relaxation every week.
Zoga – Yoga with Zoe live streaming via Zoom, Coventry & Warwickshire
Zoe’s a full-time yoga who teaches mainlya vinyasa flow a free NHS class and Yin style. She’s set up online classes via Zoom and is ”looking to spread more positivity and the incredible benefits of yoga practice especially during this time of uncertainty”.
- Yin yoga, Sun at 7pm- great for flexibility by working deep into the connective tissue based on TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)
- Easy yoga, Wed at 7pm – (free to NHS and a donation for non NHS) designed to reduce stress and anxiety. Perfect for beginners who would like to learn the very basics. Steady movement and breathing.
- Vinyasa flow, Thur at 7pm – a different theme each week. Synchronisation of breath and movement to create a continuous flow. A great physical and mental workout.
Stonemonkey Ashtanga Yoga, Leamington Spa live streaming via Zoom
- Classes are held on Tues – 6pm; Thurs – 9am and Sat – 9am. Plus there’s a full primary series class on Sunday at 9am.
Cost: £10 drop in; a donation if you’ve been affected financially by the lockdown and free if your situation is really desperate and you need some yoga.
Evolation Yoga and Hot Yoga, Warwick
If you like to get fit sweating, you’ll be pleased to hear a wide range of classes including Bikram Yoga, Inferno Hot Pilates, Yin Yoga and Yoga Flow are live streamlining. A timetable is available on the website here.

Body Balance Works, Wellesbourne
Although her pilates studio and physio practice is temporality closed, qualified physiotherapist and pilates instructor Hayley Rice is now live streaming all her physio-led pilates and yoga classes. Free 30-min Immune-boosting ballet workout by Sleek Ballet Fitness
A full-body workout with the added benefit of maximising your lung capacity, boosting your immune system. This 30-min workout will increase blood flow, improved oxygenation, reduce stress and the release of all-important endorphins all while creating beautiful dancer tone. Sleek Ballet Fitness was co-founded by Warwickshire based ex-ballerina Victoria Marr, who danced with Birmingham Royal Ballet, together with pro-dancer and best-mate Flik in Berks. Temple of Yoga PJ practice, Banbury – Thurs, 7.45am
Wake up to Yoga just across the border with Ayesha the founder and one of the teachers at Banbury’s first and only dedicated yoga studio. Join in for 15 minutes of roll-out-of-bed-friendly yoga. Come hair and teeth unbrushed, and in your PJs if you fancy. You don’t even need a mat. The perfect way to move gently into your day and it’s totally freeee!
