Superflashy newsflash! The latest foodie gossip near you
From sad closings to Michelin mentions, Glynn Purnell’s latest venture and a secret speakeasy… here’s the latest foodie news in Warwickshire and the West Midlands.
MICHELIN MENTIONS

Hold the front page, because here’s some of the hottest foodie news in Warwickshire and the West Midlands! You can’t get hotter than the Michelin Guide and we’ve got some awesome foodie joints which have received mentions. Warwick’s latest restaurant Hem (on the site of the former Tailor’s) was noted for serving up hearty, unpretentious dishes with great wine flights. Over in Birmingham there were two new additions to the list – Japanese restaurant Satori, and ‘opulent’ Indo-Persian eatery Baloci. Want our opinion? Try all three!
SAD CLOSINGS
If you’re on a night out in Cov then chances are you’d make a pit stop at The Botanist for a pretty cocktail or ten. So we’re gutted to hear it’s closed after six years in the city. No news yet on who will take its place, so watch this space…!
SHHH… SECRET SPEAKEASY ALERT!

Can there ever be too many? I’ll answer that one, nope! Hush is in Leamington (just below The Terrace, but I didn’t tell you that). It’s a new, underground bar with a secret entrance and open Thursdays to Saturdays from 5pm to 2.30am. Expect Prohibition Era-inspired cocktails and live jazz.
GLYNN PURNELL’S FOODIE/ FOOTIE TAKEOVER
Purnell’s may have closed in the city *sob*, but Brummy-based Glynn Purnell isn’t taking a step back from the local foodie scene. A lifelong Blues fan (that’s Birmingham City FYI), he’s taking residency at the ground and launching The Boardroom Club. It’s match days only, serving up the Great British Menu star’s classic British dishes. It’s a full experience, complete with dinner, seats in the Director’s Box, half time snacks, a cheeseboard after the game and chance to hobnob with the team. That ticks all the boxes for a great date I’d say (unless your other half is a Villa supporter…).
