Home comforts? The Airstream we stayed in there was amazing! Very comfy and it’s very peaceful there however there’s a great pub with a lovely welcoming feel that’s a ten minute walk away. The animals really bring the place alive and the free Chiminea&#8217;s were a lovely touch. A ten minute drive takes you into a beautiful, historic village with cobble stone streets and quirky shops. 
It’s a very special place and we’ve just booked again as it happens.

LOWDOWN
This was our first ever glamping experience and I was so excited to take the kids with us. We were spending the night at Ettie’s Field…in an Airstream. Ehhh? Yes, that was my reaction too. Before this visit, I’d never heard of an Airstream before – yurts, shepherd huts, pods, bell tents – yes, but not an Airstream.

If you’re in the same boat as me, allow me to enlighten you. These travel trailers are a fry cry from a dull, white caravan (no offence to anyone out there who owns one). In fact I’m not even sure we can call it the same thing.
An Airstream is an iconic American trailer with a distinct sleek and shiny aluminium exterior, large panoramic windows and cool, retro interior – it’s seriously cool and good-looking and those who invest in an Airstream, are investing in a lifestyle. If it’s good enough for the likes of Hollywood A-Listers, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington and Sandra Bullock, then it’s good enough for me.

On the Warwickshire/Leicestershire border in Ratcliffe Culey near Atherstone.

Boho chic, basically. As far as glamping sites go, this one’s fairly new – just over a year old. It’s run by Linds and Dom and is located in the gorgeous lush Leicestershire countryside and is so different from any place I’ve ever stayed in.

Linds comes from a creative background and she’s really pulled out the stops putting this place together – case in point, The Club House. This chilled out central, social space has got such a great vibe and immediately makes you smile – it’s beautiful and bright with pink and purple walls, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and is filled with plants, macrame wall hangings and swinging hammocks – race you to one! There’s also plenty of refreshments here – just don’t forget to leave some pennies in the Honesty Box.

Connected to the Club House is the reception area where you head on arrival to pick up the keys for your Airstream. Linds has created a mini-shopping mecca here where you can pick up everything from incense sticks to Moroccan rugs and more.

Ettie’s Field welcomes pretty much everything a bit different (not white caravans or motor homes) and it was a full house when we were there – camping tents, bell tents and more.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s public showers and toilets onsite too, but before you turn up your nose, think less pop up showers and bog standard loos because Ettie’s Field doesn’t do things by halves – check out this fancy schmancy log pod bathroom pictures above – it’s more stylish than our bathroom back home no wonder it’s been awarded 5 Stars from Quality in Tourism.

If you’ve got the kids with you – great! There’s enough space for them to run themselves ragged, plus they can meet the locals alpacas, donkeys and did I mention the peacocks? Yes, peacocks – four to be precise.
PILLOW TALK
The Airstream is as stylish on the inside as it is on the outside and ours was no exception. Bumble had everything we needed including central heating, a TV, shower, toilet, a gas cooker, oven, a small table, leather seating, a small kitchen area, kettle, fridge and space for four of us to sleep comfortably, plus there was room for a travel cot. Outside there’s space for your car and your own private seating area which is great if you want to pop open a bottle of fizz (with or without the kids).

Bumble’s interior decor had a cheery grey and yellow theme – fresh bedding, soft scatter cushions, yellow towels and a few bumble bees scattered around for good measure.

SCOFF AND QUAFF
The Airstream’s mini kitchen means you have the choice to stay indoors and rustle up something or, venture out. Worth mentioning that nothing here is within walking distance. We’d booked dinner at the Hercules Revived (7 miles away) a gorgeous local gastropub that was well worth the visit. There’s a few other pubs close by and some takeaways so you’ll never go hungry.
OUT AND ABOUT
If you’re planning a slightly longer stay then there’s plenty to explore further afield including <a href="https://www.bosworthwatertrust.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bosworth Water Park</a>, <a href="https://www.bosworthbattlefield.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bosworth Battlefield </a>and <a href="https://twycrosszoo.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Twycross Zoo</a> (where you can meet their newest residents, a pair of Sumatran tigers)  is only a few minutes away or head to the small market town of Market Bosworth.
THE MUDDY VERDICT
Good for: A family stay but if you choose to leave the kids at home, bed down in one of the smaller Airstreams. Great for a chilled out weekend away with the girls too.
Not for: Those who like their home comforts and space or those who want complete peace and quiet (it’s massively family-friendly so you may not appreciate the little people running around). People who insist on five-star luxury might find not favour the quirky glamping experience. If you’re all about culture and sight-seeing, you might be a tad bored – it is literally a silver trailer in a glamping site.
Cost: A 2 night minimum stay in Bumble is £150 a night.
