Run by two talented chefs, Dan Cavell and Mark Fry, this Michelin recommended foodie hotspot was runner-up for the second year running in the <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/food/2018/oct/21/ofm-awards-2018-best-restaurant-the-runners-up">Observer Food Monthly Awards 2018</a> for Best Restaurant in the UK. Throughout March The Cross, one of two Michelin-starred restaurants in Warwickshire, is offering a three-course set lunch menu for £29, (Tues &#8211; Sun). An independent pub/cafe/restaurant in a modern barn conversion on the site of a brand-new housing developing sound like it shouldn&#8217;t work, but weirdly it does!  Every time I&#8217;ve popped it for lunch or breakfast it&#8217;s buzzing. Breakfasts and lunches are served every day and it&#8217;s open for dinner two nights a week, Fri and Sat, 6.30 &#8211; 8.30pm. Our ed-in-chief&#8217;s had afternoon tea here with girlfriends a couple of times and says it’s the perfect atmosphere for the occasion – grown-up, glam and indulgent. And even more so if you opt for the new Butterfly Kisses afternoon tea, in partnership with Perrier-Jouët. Fizz, chocolate pots, truffled chicken and 600 origami butterflies suspended from the conservatory ceiling (don’t eat those though) all for £26.50, until Mon 29 Apr.
