<p>Known as&nbsp;<a href="http://backspaceuk.com/siliconspa/home-2.html">Silicon Spa</a>, Leamington is a global gaming cluster with around 32 video gaming companies, including some of the biggest names.&nbsp;It&#8217;s a compact but alluring historic spa town with grand Regency architecture – particularly The Parade, Clarendon Square and Lansdowne Circus – and lovely parks which run along the River Leam. A popular Warwick University student hangout, there are laid-back coffee shops aplenty, cocktail bars with live music and some awesome eateries.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s some great yoga and sound healing studios in Leamington, and we love the ridiculously cool <a href="https://heisthousestudios.co.uk">Heist House</a> at Nash White &#8211; which conveniently also has a delicious cafe and great hairdressers on the same site. The annual <a href="https://royal-leamington-spa.co.uk/event/ecofest/">eco festival</a> is full of have-a-go activities like laughter yoga and pilates, with the focus on creating a sustainable lifestyle. For pampering there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.mallory.co.uk/spa/">Elan Spa</a> at Mallory Court Hotel, a <a href="https://www.balmleamington.com/">Neal&#8217;s Yard Remedies store and therapy centre</a>, and pop-in pampering at day spa, <a href="https://www.thespaleamington.com/">The Spa</a>. There&#8217;s some great private and NHS GPs in the town, along with heaps of pharmacies. You&#8217;re also not far from Warwick Hospital with its emergency department. </p>

<p>The town has a range of annual events including the <a href="https://www.artinpark.co.uk/">Art in the Park</a> festival with exhibitions and workshops, <a href="https://warwickshirepride.co.uk/pride-festival">Warwickshire Pride</a>, and the hugely popular <a href="https://leamingtonfoodfestival.co.uk/">Leamington Food &amp; Drink Festival</a>. The <a href="https://www.warwickdc.gov.uk/royalpumprooms/site/index.php">Pump Room</a> hosts some awesome festivals throughout the year in its gardens. At Christmas there’s a busy lantern parade and Santa dash, and there are regular local makers markets in the town.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-nearby-attractions">NEARBY ATTRACTIONS </h2>



<p>The National Trust&#8217;s beautiful <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/lists/warwickshire">heritage properties in Warwickshire</a> including <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/charlecote-park">Charlecote Park</a>, a Victorian country house and landscaped deer park, are all an easy drive. A much-photographed scenic spot for walks is Chesterton Windmill. A short drive out is the <a href="https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk">British Motor Museum</a> along with Warwick and Kenilworth castles. </p>

<p>The iconic Royal Pump Rooms, which attracted visitors to the famous spa baths up until the mid-19th century, including Queen Victoria, now incorporates <a href="https://www.warwickdc.gov.uk/royalpumprooms/info/24/exhibitions">Leamington Spa Art Gallery &amp; Museum</a>, which holds exhibitions of local artists. There is live comedy, talks, panto and cinema at the <a href="https://www.warwickdc.gov.uk/royalspacentre/site/index.php">Royal Spa Centre</a>. Lovely leafy parks on the River Leam include award-winning Jephson Gardens, Newbold Comyn and Victoria Park. <a href="https://www.comptonverney.org.uk/">Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park</a>, with brilliant bijou exhibitions, is close by too.</p>

<p>Leamington is closely associated with the founding of lawn tennis. The first tennis club in the world was formed in 1872 and the modern rules of lawn tennis were drawn up in 1874 at Leamington Tennis Club.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s 3 miles to the&nbsp;M40 motorway&nbsp;which links the town to Birmingham and London. The art-deco Leamington Spa railway station&nbsp;is on the line to&nbsp;London Marylebone&nbsp;– a 75 min journey. </p>
