<p>Not to be confused with Henley-on-Thames, this is one of Warwickshire&#8217;s oldest market towns dating back to the 12th century. The unspoilt high street has more than 150 buildings of historic interest, including the timber-framed <a href="http://www.henleygh.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Guild Hall</a>, a community hub. Henley&#8217;s extremely close to Stratford-upon-Avon (8.5 miles), the thriving market town of Alcester (8 miles) and Studley (7 miles). Its central location, avenue of elegant Cotswold stone houses, lively pubs, great schools, and picturesque canals make it an appealing place to live.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.woottonpark.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wootton Park</a> is a stunning rural setting in nearby Wootton Wawen village for weddings, glamping with hot tubs, wellbeing retreats, horse riding and wake-boarding. Stratford-upon-Avon canal and its towpaths are pretty, peaceful, spots for walks and narrow boat trips with Edstone Aquaduct in Henley being one of the longest cast iron aqueducts in England. <p>For a top day out <a href="https://www.warwick-castle.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Warwick Castle</a> is literally just up the road as is stunning <a href="https://www.comptonverney.org.uk/whats-on/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Compton Verney</a>. The <a href="https://www.rsc.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">RSC</a> in Stratford is right on the doorstep too with a host of amazing theatre and top names. On a smaller scale, you&#8217;ll also find plenty of cultural and craft fairs taking place in the town, one of the most popular is <a href="https://www.facebook.com/henleymusicfest/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Henley Music Festival</a>, which sees live acts perform at local venues. </p>

<p>Book one of the brilliant wellbeing retreats at beautiful <a href="https://woottonparkwellness.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wootton Park Wellness</a> or there’s traditional Chinese medicine and herbal remedies with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ljwellness.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LJ Wellness</a> and <a href="https://www.henleybeautysalon.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Henley Beauty Salon</a>. <a href="https://www.theloft-studio.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Loft Studio</a> runs pilates, yoga and barre classes in a lovely studio on Chapel Street. If you get the bug, you can join regular retreats abroad too. Muddy Award-winning <a href="https://formandflow.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Form and Flow Pilates</a> on Guild Street also offer Reformer pilates. <a href="https://bungeefitness.club" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Bungee Jump Fitness Club</a> is a fun alternative to the gym offering bungee fitness and aerial pilates. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-community">COMMUNITY</h2>



<p>There&#8217;s a strong community spirit here. Earlier this year local volunteers opened a new brewery, community space and bar at Henley-in-Arden Railway Station, aptly called <a href="https://thestationhenley.co.uk/about/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Station Henley</a>, which had sat empty since the 1990s. <a href="https://henley-festival.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Henley Music Festival</a> also takes over town for the August Bank Holiday weekend (returning to The Black Swan in 2025).</p>
