<p>Head a little further to Stratford-upon-Avon for a wider food scene (and much more!), from relaxed bistros to high-end dining and chic wine bars. Three of our favourite riverside spots for people watching with a glass of vino over dinner are <a href="https://www.thestratfordboathouse.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Boathouse</a>, The Arden Hotel’s <a href="https://www.theardenhotelstratford.com/the-no44-brasserie/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">No.44 The Brasserie</a> and the <a href="https://www.rsc.org.uk/rooftop-restaurant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">RSC’s Rooftop Restaurant</a> – all a stone’s throw from the theatre if you’re catching a play.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-shop">SHOP</h2>



<p>Arrow has a post office and a small convenience shop for basic groceries and essentials, but this is a dinky village so that&#8217;s about it. For interiors inspo, head to nearby Alcester’s <a href="https://hillers.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hillers Farm Shop</a>, a treasure trove of kitchenware, garden bits and deli delights – great for a browse and a loaf of sourdough. <a href="https://www.cobbsfarmshops.co.uk/cobbs-stratford" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cobbs Farm Shop</a> in Snitterfield is also brilliant for local produce, cookery workshops and events.</p>



<p>Alcester High Street has a growing indie scene, with boutiques, bookshops and a few stylish lifestyle stores popping up. For a fashion fix, Stratford-upon-Avon has a good selection of shops, or make a day of it with a trip to Warwick or Leamington for proper boutique browsing.</p>

Home to the 9th Marquess of Hertford, Ragley Estate has a colourful history, set in 5,600 acres of Warwickshire countryside, it is part farm, part heritage parkland and part outdoor event destination, as well as a set for weddings and film locations. You may recognise this stately home as&nbsp;<em>The Crown’s</em>&nbsp;Althorp filming location. </p>
