<p>There&#8217;s no shortage of pubs in this neck of the woods, starting with the <a href="https://www.newboldcrown.co.uk">Newbold Crown</a> and <a href="https://www.barleymow-newbold.co.uk">The Barley Mow</a>. Just down the road in Harborough Magna <a href="http://oldlionrugby.co.uk">The Old Lion</a> has just reopened, serving up a pub classic menu given an Asian-twist by talented chef Hari Krishnamurthy, who was classically trained in India and has done stints at Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe. He also owns <a href="https://www.thegeorgeatkilsby.co.uk">The George</a> in Kilsby which isn&#8217;t too far. </p>



<p>In-and-around Rugby,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ontherocksrugby.co.uk/">On The Rocks</a>,&nbsp;<a href="http://thetuningforkhoulton.co.uk/">The Tuning Fork</a>, and&nbsp;<a href="https://thelounges.co.uk/bacco/">Bacco Lounge</a>&nbsp;are good for relaxed, dining/drinks and of course,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.libertineburger.com/pages/rugby">Libertine Burger</a>&nbsp;is one not to miss.&nbsp;<a href="https://boatinnbirdingbury.co.uk/">The Boat Inn</a>&nbsp;in nearby Birdingbury is great for alfresco dining and make sure you check out former Muddy Award-winning&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/plantmerugby/">Plant Me</a>, serving up delicious cakes and selling houseplants. Country pubs worth the drive include&nbsp;<a href="https://redlionhunningham.co.uk/">The Red Lion, Hunningham</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="http://www.thestagatoffchurch.com/">The Stag at Offchurch</a>.</p>

Elliott’s Field is a modern out-of-town retail park within easy walking distance of Newbold On Avon, with big names like TK Maxx, Homesense, Next and M&amp;S.</p>



<p>The nearby village of Marton is home to Warwickshire’s biggest independent baby equipment showroom,&nbsp;<a href="https://babybarnltd.co.uk/">The Baby Barn Pram and Nursery Centre</a>. Family-run&nbsp;<a href="https://www.hilltopfarmshop.com/">Hilltop Farm &amp; Café&nbsp;</a>has an excellent farm shop, butcher’s, deli and lifestyle store, with a selection of local gins and craft beers. Muddy Award-winning&nbsp;<a href="https://www.maltkilnfarmshop.co.uk/">Malt Kiln Farm Shop</a>&nbsp;in Stretton-under-Fosse also has Pick Your Own fruit fields.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s an annual field of inflatables at the local pub which is always a hit and regular community fun days and litter picks, if you&#8217;re fancying boosting your eco creds. Keen runners can sign up to the half marathon and film buffs can check out the twice-monthly film club. Dog owners can take part in the weekly dog walks from local pub Newbold Crown. </p>

<p>There&#8217;s some great parks here, notably Centenary Park, <a href="https://www.warwickshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/NewboldQuarry">Newbold Quarry Reserve</a> and <a href="https://www.warwickshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/SwiftValley">Swift Valley Nature Reserve</a>. You&#8217;re also not far from <a href="https://www.stwater.co.uk/wonderful-on-tap/our-visitor-sites/come-visit-us/draycote-water/">Draycote Water</a>&nbsp;– a 650-acre reservoir used for sailing, windsurfing, fly fishing and bird watching, popular with walkers and cyclists. In Rugby sights include the imposing&nbsp;<a href="https://www.rugbyschool.co.uk/commercial/school-shop-and-tours/tours/">Rugby School</a>&nbsp;slightly further afield there’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cotesbach.net/">Cotesbatch Estate</a>, near Lutterworth and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/canons-ashby">Canon’s Ashby</a>, near Daventry, a National Trust Elizabethan house with 18th century gardens.</p>

<p> In Rugby there&#8217;s the <a href="https://www.ragm.co.uk">Art Gallery and Museum</a> which always has some interesting exhibitions, amateur art venue Rugby Theatre. Head to Cov for <a href="https://www.theherbert.org">The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum</a>, awesome shows at <a href="https://www.belgrade.co.uk">The Belgrade Theatre</a> and there&#8217;s always plenty on at Coombe Abbey including outdoor cinema nights.</p>
